Anti-gay group, Focus on Family, gets nixed from Atlanta Braves’ ‘Faith Day’ Events.
Frank J. Ranelli
James Dobson and his ilk of obnoxious gay bashers and homo-haters have wormed their way into America’s pastime – baseball! The Atlanta Braves “became the first team in major league baseball to sponsor a post-game Christian evangelizing event called Faith Day.”
What was intended to be a place where an already largely gathered crowd of baseball fans could find “spiritual purpose in life” quickly turned ugly. As reported on Thinkprogressive.org, Dobson and his reprehensible clan arrived on the scene to do what they do best: promote narrow-minded hate, bigotry and good old-fashioned, southern prejudice in the form of malicious and cruel anti-gay messages disseminated through hand-out literature.
Some of the “highlights” of their campaign materials were:
Have faith though, Dobson’s rancorous brood will be back in “fine form” in no time to destroy another family pastime. After all, football season is right around the corner and what (read with extreme sarcasm!) could be “more gay” than 22 large, beefy, sweaty men –- in tight pants -- lining up nose to nose, chasing each other around a grassy field for three hours of rough-housing and then lining up in the locker room to take group showers together!
What has the world come to, I ask you?!
Hurry James, maybe you can contact the new commish of NFL Football and convince him to suspend the games of the gridiron this Fall on the account of football having a covert homosexual agenda!
Sanity Check, please!

The Atlanta Braves didn’t find Dobson and crew either family oriented or spiritual in nature. Braves’ spokesperson, Beth Marshall, asked Focus on Family not to attend anymore of the Braves’ future “Faith Days.”
- Male homosexuality is a developmental problem that is almost always the result of problems in family relations, particularly between father and son.
- The following factors can also contribute to the homosexual orientation: pornography; spousal abuse in the home; molestation and pedophilia.

Hello, I am your evil cousin in Atlanta's friend (well technically, your evil cousinS since I know them both; but live in the same 'hood as the female cousin who shall remain nameless but is known as the Vixen of Vinings Ridge).
Now I don't want to shock you, but I have to take issue with Mr. Dobson's views:
"Male homosexuality is a developmental problem that is almost always the result of problems in family relations, particularly between father and son.
Hmmmm…while my father and I are very different people, we’ve had, in my opinion, a pretty good relationship and still speak to one another once a week. My mother and I also have a good relationship, and also speak regularly. And, to top it all off, my Midwestern, church-going parents are still married to each other, without any infidelity, substance abuse, or other evils to be found. So I guess that’s not it Mr. Dobson.
"The following factors can also contribute to the homosexual orientation: pornography; spousal abuse in the home; molestation and pedophilia."
Well I have to plead the 5th on pornography (but it was never found in my parent’s house growing up, had to find it myself in college); no spousal abuse in my home growing up, no molestation or pedophilia. In fact apparently I was so unattractive that both of the kiddy-didling priests of my childhood refrained from ever laying a hand on me (I guesss I had a reputation for not being "that type of altar boy").
What could it be that made me gay Mr. Dobson?! Maybe it's that I really like penises. A mystery for the ages...
;)
