Translating the Neocon/Capitalist Doublespeak Language

A helpful guide to translate the true meaning of many of the "sanitized" words we hear from the partisan-right, neocons, chickenhawks and Bush followers, hacks and apologists:

abuse: torture

American interests: 1. Corporate interests; keeping share prices up. 2. For the benefit of the rich.

associate: a low-level employee.

axis of evil: countries to be attacked next

classified: secretive and damaging information that must be suppressed from the public

consumer: increasingly used in place of "citizen" when referring to the individual. Indicative of the growing assumption that democracy equals capitalism.

corporation: 1. oligarchy 2. A profit-driven entity destined to ultimately consist of lawers and other such experts in combination with the minimum number of other people required to justify the ownership of the largest number of things possible.

creation science: religion pretending to be science

enemy combatant: legal wording to get around the Geneva Conventions ' protective rights for those captured in combat

doublespeak: 'Dubyaspeak', as in Bush Orwellian talk

free speech zone: an area set aside for protesters in which law enforcement supposedly will not interfere with them if they stay within it, but may assail or arrest them if they venture out of it.

illegal combatants: prisoners of war who are deprived of basic human rights and of any legal rights under existing international conventions regarding treatment of prisoners

intelligent design: euphemism for creationism

patriotism: unquestioning loyalty to other peoples' interests - A.K.A. blind obedience

privatization: profit opportunities for corporate America

quaint: inconvenient

radical: 1. popular opinion 2. person voicing popular opinions ignored by media with strong coverage

regime change: a forceful change of government by a foreign power; Pax Americana

Is it possible that I have found
a Coin so rare, that it has only
One Side?

Does the author of Rants expound,
but rarely read an opposing view?

May I suggest that you and I drop
the hyperbola and the Hate Slogan,
if only for a brief moment? Nothing
is ever gained, few are ever convinced by these tactics anyway.

Is it possible for the Neo-lib, and
the Neo-con...To sit down (and take a deep breath) and Reason, Together?

I submit: Let's begin by sharing
important dates in recent History.

I'll momentarily retire, leaving
you with this noble quotation from Thomas Jefferson...

"Fix Reason firmly in her seat,
call to her tribunal every fact,
every opinion, question with boldness even the existence of a God, for if there be one, He would
more approve the homage of reason,
than that of blind-folded Fear.

Your own reason is the only Oracle
given you by heaven, and you are
responsible..."

To Snake Hunter:

I have seen the “other side” of the coin and it is an ugly abyss of vile hatred, fear-mongering, robbery of the poor and uninformed and demagoguery. There is nothing patriotic or American about those that allege to spread democracy and freedom when they so vehemently crush its very existence on the soil we live.

You may have me chronologically in years, but my knowledge of history is quite astute and immensely well-researched, for it is history that teaches us totalitarianism and fascism can happen anywhere; and it is alive and well in the this country as we speak.

It was also Thomas Jefferson who said, “Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.” You ask me to find common ground with fascists and theocrats that steal elections and believe they are on a “mission from God” – and I outright reject that notion and idea; for it is the antithesis of the founding principles of this nation.

The past is important, the present is vital; the future we chose is paramount to the survival of true democracy, liberty and diplomacy for all mankind.

I leave you with a two quotes of my own,

“Theocracy is the ultimate methodology to rule a nation by. Rationality and intellectualism are always persecuted while faith and ignorance meld into blind nationalism. This produces a mass delusion of grand arrogance that erroneously justifies insidious acts of human brutality and conquest.”

“There can be nothing more tragic than attempting to honor those who died for freedom than allowing more to die in the name of oppression and lies to repress the common man.”
